Foundation I-$91 Foundation II-$130 Combination-$195 Foundation I This is for people new to Indian dance with basics in body awareness, alignment, flexibility, coordination, and strength. Foundation II In this class we learn how to move through various foundation positions in different speeds. This is a footwork intensive with a focus on rhythmic precision. Recommendations: All ages of 9 and above are welcome to take class. For individuals with no dance experience, Foundation I is recommended. For people with any dance experience, Foundation I and II are recommended. For people with some Indian dance training, Foundation II is recommended. Movement Language: Each position and approach to movement has an origin of cultural location and practice. Throughout the class, specifics of the origins will be brought to attention as much as possible. Movement language will primarily originate from Bharatanatyam for the above classes. |
